Kyoto Railway Museum

Eines der größten Eisenbahnmuseen Japans, nahe dem Bahnhof Kyoto — über 50 echte Lokomotiven und Waggons, darunter ein noch gelegentlich in Betrieb befindlicher Lokschuppen für Dampflokomotiven, dazu eine fahrende Dampflokfahrt und detailreiche Modellanlagen.

Open 10:00–17:00, last entry 16:30; closed Wednesdays (with holiday exceptions) and around New Year. Adult admission is around ¥1,500. It's a short walk or shuttle bus from Kyoto Station and popular with families, so weekends and school holidays get busy.
