Nijo Castle

這座聯合國教科文組織世界遺產將軍居所,二之丸御殿的走廊刻意鋪設會發出啾啾聲響的「鶯聲地板」——腳步踩過時木板發出鳥鳴般的聲音,作為防範刺客入侵的預警機關。殿內的彩繪拉門,以及環繞四周的護城河與庭園,同樣值得細細參觀。

Grounds and Ninomaru Palace are open 8:45–17:00, last admission 16:00. The castle is closed on some Tuesdays in January, July, August, and December, plus December 26–January 4. Check the date before planning around it. A combined grounds-and-palace ticket runs roughly ¥1,000; photography isn't permitted inside the palace itself.
