Kimono Rental & Higashiyama Photo Walk
Rent a kimono or yukata for the day from one of the many rental shops clustered near Kiyomizu-dera, then walk the Higashiyama lanes in it. Visitors in kimono are a common sight in the district, and it's one of the most photographed things to do in Kyoto.
Rentals typically include the kimono, obi, and basic accessories, with hair styling offered as an add-on; full-day rentals usually run from morning until early evening return. Book same-day or a day ahead in most seasons; cherry blossom and autumn-foliage weekends get busy, so book further out then.
